Types of Registrants:

• The Registrant must be a registered entity in Brazil. The Administrative Contact must also be located in Brazil.
• Starting from May 1st 2008 also individuals resident in Brazil are allowed to register com.br domain names.
• Please note that in the instance that a registrant wishes to register for example testdomain.com.br and test-domain.com.br, only one of them will be processed as the registry will consider them to be the same domain. NIC/Registro.br -reserves- variants of a domain, under the same suffix, with more or less dashes "-", for registration by the same Registrant only. This means that if registrant "ABC Ltda." has registered domain my-testdomain.com.br (with one dash), only registrant "ABC Ltda." is entitled to request the registration of variants mytestdomain.com.br (without dashes) and/or my-test-domain.com.br (with two dashes), not being it possible for another applicant to apply for any variant of "mytestdomain" with more or less dashes.
• For Registrants that do not fulfill the Local Presence requirements BA offers a Local Presence service.

VAT Number

• This must be filled out with Registrant VAT number in Brazil (CNPJ)
• In case the Registrant is an individual, this field should contain the Registrant social security number (CPF)

Please note that there are now two different processes with regards to .com.br transfers which largely depends on whether the domain is already with our supplier and Local Presence provider, Latin TLD. In order to check the current provider of stated domain, please refer to the whois -> https://registro.br/cgi-bin/whois/

1. If on the whois, if the "c - cobrança" field states NAB51 this means the domain is with Nameaction.
   
2. If on the whois, if the "c - cobrança" field states does NOT state NAB51 this means the domain is with a different provider.

For domains with Nameaction (point 1.):
This is an internal transfer: the transfer must to be approved from current Nameaction's customer

For Domains NOT with Nameaction (Point 2.):

Please provide the Registrants' login details (normally the ID _and_ password that is issued to the Administrative Contact by the registry.)
